River Routes - Meet us at one of the convenient launch points to start your adventure!

Each rental is two hours in length and includes a canoe, paddles, PFDs, and transportation of all equipment. Each river route is different in length; please ensure to choose a route that you can enjoy within the two hour rental.

The river routes have different pick-up and drop-off locations. Each route starts at public water access and ends downriver at another access point. Canoes and equipment will be dropped off at the launch point and Meguma Canoe will meet you at the end of the route to collect the canoes and return you to your vehicle. Return transportation to your vehicle is included in the price.

01 — Middleton to Lawrencetown (Annapolis River)

(13 km - Beginner) Our most popular route! You will paddle under hulking oak and maple trees, pass an eagles nest and it’s watchful owner, and avoid a few glacial erratics! The flow of the current allows you to relax enjoy the nature. You will truly escape the noise of the world.

02 — Lawrencetown to Paradise (Annapolis River)

(5 km - Experienced) Choose your own route around the islands dotting this section of the Annapolis River! Take time to stop and explore the small islands on this route. You’ll also need to prepare for some excitement!

This route has sections of Grade II whitewater. Only choose this route if you are an experienced paddler.

03 — Paradise to Bridgetown (Annapolis River)

(10.6 km - Beginner/Intermediate) This portion of the Annapolis River offers an outstanding variety of landscapes. Enjoy beautiful farmland, dense forest, numerous brooks, and even catch some golf as you paddle past Eden Golf and Country Club. Watch for bald eagles looking for some lunch! This routes launch site is rocky and steep, extra care is needed.

05 — Bridgetown to Hebb’s Landing (Annapolis River)

(8.8 km - Intermediate) Jubilee Park in Bridgetown is your launch point. Make your way down the river and keep you eye out for Bloody Creek historic site! It is more common to find anglers and motorized boats on this route. Extra planning is needed due to the effect of the tides. Winds may be strong in this area.

06 — Nictaux Canal (Nictaux River)

(~9 km - Beginner) Paddle your way through this impressive canal towards Wamboldt Pond. This canal offers great protection from the wind and the current helps bring you back to the launch point. A favourite among locals.

Lake Routes - Relax and enjoy these still water routes.

Each lake route rental is two hours in length and includes a canoe, paddles, PFDs, and transportation of all equipment. Each lake is different in size. It is up to you to return to shore on time at the end of your rental. Each canoe can comfortably support two adults. If you are headed out paddling with children we recommend that there be no more than two adults and one small child in a canoe.

All lake routes have a single launch site. This is where you will meet us and get ready to paddle!

01 — Grand Lake

Just south of Annapolis Royal, Grand Lake offers a relaxing and quiet location to enjoy nature. Head south from the launch point and enjoy Nova Scotia cottage country!

02 — Sandy Bottom Lake

This lake has a popular beach in the summer months. There are facilities such as washrooms and a canteen. Explore the many glacial erratics dotting the lake.

03 — Trout Lake

Explore a popular boating recreational boating area in cottage country. There is plenty to see on this busy lakes included a few island cottages!

04 — Dalhousie Lake

Once a flowage, Dalhousie lake offers an enjoyable paddle through multiple narrows. Experience the sense of exploration as the lake reveals itself section by section.

05 — Shannon Lake

Shannon Lake provides paddlers with access to Nova Scotia’s vast interior network of lakes and rivers. Enjoy the dense forest and escape from the noise of the outside world. If you’re up to the challenge, muscle your way through the narrows to Shannon River!

Explore our routes

Take a minute to explore all the different canoe launch and landing sites. Many of our sites are accessed at public boat launches with ample parking.

Pricing: $89/canoe for 2 hours (Discount for Multi-Canoe Booking). Includes equipment and transportation. Maximum two adults per canoe. Please choose a route you can comfortably complete within two hours. Waivers must be signed prior to all rentals. Those under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
